Breaking in Pointe Shoes
The easiest way to break in pointe shoes is simply by wearing them. The heat and sweat from class will help mold the shoe to the unique shape of your foot. I don't believe in slaming your shoes in the door. Leave that to the professionals. Today I am going to give you exercises to help break in your pointe shoes. One last thing, DO NOT BEND YOUR SHOE IN HALF! This has broken many dancers shoes and DO NOT beat your shoes with a hammer.
1. Walking in demi-pointe
This is one of the best ways to break in your shoes. Put them on and just walk in them while on demi-pointe. This will help form the shoes to your arch.
2. Rolling Through Demi and on to Pointe.
Stand in first position and and roll through demi and up to pointe. Make sure you push over the box. Do this in every position.
